The ACCE launch event was held at the University of Sheffield on 9th & 10th October 2014. The aim of this meeting was to introduce students, academics and stakeholders to the ACCE Doctoral Training Partnership, to share the ACCE vision and invite people to contribute ideas as to how ACCE functions and the way it is managed, as well as to hear about the new students’ projects. The launch event also provided the opportunity for the ACCE community to build the foundation for a long-lived collaborative network of biological and environment focused researchers.
There were opportunities for new and current students to share experiences and for the new ACCE students to learn from more experienced students. In parallel we held a supervisors’ forum where academics and stakeholders discussed the barriers to forming strong collaborative relationships and how ACCE can help overcome them, as well as how ACCE should be used to maximise research excellence among the partners more broadly.
